FAQs
What is caregiving?
A caregiver provides physical and/or emotional support to a family member, partner, friend, or neighbour (Ontario Caregiver Organization). Carers may be providing help with any of the following: day to day activities like bathing, feeding, giving medications, social support, going to medical appointments, navigating the health system, supporting or making medical, financial and legal decisions. These tasks and activities can be occasional or on a more regular basis and even daily. This can also include those who are not yet providing this support but who are preparing for the role (e.g. you start to notice that a family member may need help in the future and need to start preparing).
Who are caregivers?
The term caregiver can include those providing paid professional services, but for the purposes of this Coaching service we focus on upaid caregivers who could be a family member, partner or friend.

why do I need a Caregiver Coach?
There are organizations that provide excellent resources that can help guide and support you in your
role as a Caregiver. Organizations like the Ontario Caregiver Organization, the Alzheimer’s Society of
Canada and provincial and federal government organziations that provide information, tools and tips.
The information and resources available can be overwhelming and you may not know where to start or what to look for. As a Caregiver Coach, I will meet you where you are in your role, and in partnership with you, determine what information and tools you need, at the right time. As your Coach, we work one on one and find a path forward for you and your needs as a caregiver, while ensuring you are also taking care of yourself.
Where do you provide coaching services?
My Coaching Services are provided virtually on an on-line platform (e.g. MS Teams, Google Meet) or by
phone. As caregivers, we have other roles like being a parent, partner and worker. Let’s face it, we are busy and every minute counts, let’s make this easy and take advantage of our new normal of meeting virtually.
